Icon High students follow the curriculum of the Western Cape Education Department. Four compulsory subjects are required: two languages (English, Afrikaans or isiXhosa), Mathematics or Mathematical Literacy and Life Orientation. These are taken together with three choice subjects.

The following are possible options:
Accounting, Business Studies, Computer Applications Technology, Design, Dramatic Arts, Economics, Geography, History, Life Science, Physical Science, Tourism, Visual Art.

Portuguese and German may be offered depending on demand.
